TRC is seeking a full-time, entry-level Environmental Technician / Scientist in the Air Measurements Practice of our Austin, TX office to assist with the performance of air emissions testing projects at various industrial facilities. Our projects help industry achieve environmental compliance while maintaining productivity. Requirements

  • Must be able to comfortably lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work comfortably outdoors throughout all the seasons.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • A solution oriented, positive attitude.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug test (including marijuana) prior to employment or within five working days from the date of hire.
  • Participation in the TRC random drug testing program is mandatory.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and successful completion of a pre-employment motor vehicle records check to confirm a good driving record.
  • Maintaining valid DOT driver status (not Commercial Driver’s License) is required.
  • Successful completion of all required annual safety training.
  • A college degree is required.
  • Willingness to learn is more important than your major.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the performance of air emissions testing projects at various industrial facilities.
  • Record data, operate equipment, or work in the trailer recovering samples, performing analysis, etc. during testing.
  • Perform equipment calibrations and repairs.
  • Prepare and pack equipment for future projects.
  • Reduce and process data.
  • Write reports.
  • Perform lab work.
  • Become proficient in various USEPA sampling methods.
  • Develop knowledge about many types of industrial processes.
