About The Position
Apex Companies is seeking an Environmental Technician (Remediation) with 4+ years of environmental remediation experience to join our Pleasant Hill, CA office. The successful candidate will support the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of remediation systems, including stormwater treatment systems, oil and gas equipment, and various mechanical components such as blowers, pumps, and thermal/catalytic oxidizers. Requirements
- GED or High School diploma.
- 4+ years of experience with remediation systems, maintenance, and data collection required.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Ability to lift and carry 60 pounds, work in confined spaces, and work under inclement weather conditions.
- Stable employment history and favorable employment references.
- Track record of excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Background and drug screening.
- Own reliable transportation.
- Good safety record and understanding of safe work practices.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair remediation systems.
- Perform remediation system operations and maintenance.
- Perform soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling.
- Perform site inspections and other data collection.
- Gather field operation and maintenance data in a neat and organized manner.
- Optimize remediation systems including soil vapor extraction systems, thermal oxidizers, catalytic oxidizers, groundwater extraction and product recovery systems.
- Install, operate, and maintain groundwater pumps.
- Travel to various local remediation system locations.
- Use environmental field instruments including water quality meters, pressure and vacuum meters/gauges, PID/FIDs, and other gas meters.
- Work closely with engineers and project managers to operate, maintain, and optimize the various remediation systems.
- Understand system permits-to-operate and conduct operation of the systems in accordance with the respective permits.
