About The Position

The Environmental Team Member is responsible for maintaining a high standard of overall store cleanliness and recovery, ensuring a positive Brand Promise experience for customers. This role involves collecting and disposing of trash, cleaning floors, moving equipment and products for cleaning, and preparing cleaning solutions. The team member will deep clean key areas such as bathrooms, breakrooms, and entryways to maintain a clean and safe environment for both customers and staff. They must also maintain cleaning equipment, manage supply needs, and proactively identify areas requiring cleaning. The position requires adherence to all federal, state, and county guidelines, maintaining positive and respectful interactions, and serving as a role model for other team members.

Requirements

  • Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move throughout the store.
  • Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching and stretching.
  • Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
  • Applicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.
  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years or older.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures.
  • Dusts and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
  • Moves equipment and products for proper cleaning and places products back in correct placement.
  • Cleans assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment.
  • May require mixing water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
  • Deep cleans key areas of the store including but not limited to bathrooms, breakrooms, entryways and other high traffic areas to maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.
  • Keeps cleaning equipment neat and orderly; notifies supervisor of supply needs in advance for replenishment.
  • Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.
  • Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
  • Maintains positive and respectful interactions with both team members and customers, even in difficult situations, in keeping with the organization’s vision and values.
  • Projects a positive image and serves as a role model for other Team Members.
  • Provides a fast and friendly check out experience; executes cash handling to standards.
  • Engages customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and completes enrollments.
  • Assists with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
  • Participates in the truck un-load, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Supports shrink and safety programs.
  • Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements; executes Company policies and standards.
