About The Position

The Environmental Team Member is responsible for maintaining a high standard of the store's overall look and feel, including cleanliness and recovery standards, to deliver Brand Promises. This role involves delivering friendly customer service, assisting customers, and performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment for both customers and staff. The position also includes other duties as assigned, such as customer checkout, engaging customers in loyalty programs, assisting with omnichannel processes, participating in stocking and planogram processes, and supporting safety and shrink programs.

Requirements

  • Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move throughout the store.
  • Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
  • Applicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.
  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years or older.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures.
  • Dusts and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
  • Moves equipment and products for proper cleaning and places products back in correct placement.
  • Cleans assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment.
  • May require mixing water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
  • Deep cleans key areas of the store including bathrooms, breakrooms, entry ways, and other high traffic areas.
  • Keeps cleaning equipment neat and orderly; notifies supervisor of supply needs in advance for replenishment.
  • Seeks out areas requiring cleaning and takes initiative to complete the task.
  • Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state, and county guidelines.
  • Maintains positive and respectful interactions with both team members and customers.
  • Projects a positive image and serves as a role model for other Team Members.
  • Provides a fast and friendly check out experience; executes cash handling to standards.
  • Engages customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and completes enrollments.
  • Assists with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
  • Participates in the truck un-load, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Supports shrink and safety programs.
  • Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements; executes Company policies and standards.
