About The Position

The Environmental Services Technician keeps patient rooms and hospital areas clean and sanitized to help protect patients, visitors, and staff from illness, injury, infectious diseases, and other hazards. The role includes routine cleaning, decluttering, disinfection, supply restocking, and delivery of clean linens. Cleaning procedures vary by location, including patient rooms, emergency rooms, operating rooms, hallways, nurses’ stations, waiting areas, and restrooms. The technician uses approved tools, chemicals, equipment, and procedures, and follows proper methods for disposing of medical and biohazard waste. The role also requires kind and personable interactions with patients, visitors, and staff. CHI St. Vincent North is a 69-bed hospital with a neuro and cardiac focus. CHI St. Vincent is part of CommonSpirit Health, a regional health network serving Arkansas.

Responsibilities

Clean and declutter hospital areas through dusting, sweeping, mopping, and trash disposal.
Sanitize hospital areas using approved tools and location-specific routines.
Use appropriate chemicals, procedures, and equipment to thoroughly clean and disinfect surfaces.
Restock supplies in supply areas, common areas, and patient rooms, including soap, paper products, linens, and cleaning supplies.
Deliver clean linens to patient rooms.
Follow proper techniques for disposing of medical waste, including biological and biohazard waste such as bodily fluids and sharp implements.
Remain patient, kind, and personable when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
