About The Position

Located in Port Jefferson, the St. Charles Campus of Good Samaritan University Hospital combines advanced clinical expertise with a longstanding commitment to compassionate care. A leader in acute inpatient rehabilitation on Long Island, St. Charles Campus provides specialized care for patients recovering from conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and orthopedic injuries. The Environmental Services Aide is responsible for performing hospital wide cleaning duties per established policies and procedures as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or relevant experience required
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent customer service skills
  • Must be available to work every other weekend
  • Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods. Requires bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Exposure to chemicals on a constant basis requiring special clothing or safety equipment

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years of housekeeping or service worker experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Practice efficient use of cleaning techniques, solutions, equipment and tools.
  • Perform all cleaning, floor care and project assignments within area of responsibility or as directed by supervisor
  • Perform related services, such as bed moves, changing mattresses, stocking supplies, etc.
  • Maintain high standards; works steadily at efficient pace; achieves high QA score
  • Assist other associates as necessary. Responds to direction as provided.
