About The Position

AECOM's Southeast Transportation business line is seeking Environmental Subject Matter Experts and GIS Technicians to join their growing team throughout the southern US. Selected candidates will work on alternative delivery projects, including mega-projects. Key roles include Task Lead / Subject Matter Expert, Task / Subject Matter Expert Team Members, GIS Specialists, and Environmental Planners. The positions are expected to be hybrid (remote/in-office) and based out of a local AECOM office. AECOM is committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and requires all newly hired employees to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.

Requirements

BS Degree or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience for GIS Specialists
BS in Engineering + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience for Junior Level Engineers Task & Subject Matter Expert Team Members
BS in Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience for Mid-Level Engineers/ Task & Subject Matter Expert Team Members
BS in Engineering + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience for Senior Level Engineers / SME & Task Leads

Nice To Haves

Experience using GIS and DGN’s
State DOT experience

Responsibilities

Conducting environmental analysis specific to large transportation projects
Environmental permitting specific to large transportation projects
NEPA
Using and interpreting roadway files to analyze impacts
Working with complex projects which include many overlapping layers and data sets that are in flux.
