About The Position

Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Staff Project Manager to join our team. The Environmental Staff Project Manager supports the execution and management of environmental consulting projects through a combination of field work, technical analysis, reporting, and project coordination. This role begins developing ownership of project tasks, client relationships, budgets, and schedules while working under the guidance of senior project management staff. The Environmental Staff Project Manager I contributes to project success through technical execution, team coordination, and professional client service while demonstrating ECS Core Values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Biology, Soil Science, Ecology, or another degree relevant to the practice of soil science/environmental consulting.
  • Basic knowledge of Soil Science obtained from coursework and field experience
  • Must have 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver’s license is required
  • The following US Military ranks will qualify for this position IF they also meet the education requirements from the above section titled "Required Qualifications": E-5

Nice To Haves

  • Soil Scientist in Training (SSIT) preferred, ability to obtain Board of Soil Scientists approval for licensure within approximately 3 years (State Dependent).

Responsibilities

  • Initiates project setup and implementation with limited supervision
  • Assists with soil, wetland and natural resource investigations
  • Supports mapping, GPS data collection, and field documentation
  • Assists with pre-field planning and post-field data processing
  • Contributes to technical evaluations and reporting under senior guidance
  • Collaborates with project teams on a variety of environmental consulting projects
  • Attends project meetings and assists with technical and administrative issue resolution
  • Develops relationships with existing and prospective clients through project interactions
  • Maintains regular communication with assigned clients and project stakeholders
  • Assists with project budget management and change order tracking
  • Prepares invoices and supports collection activities
  • Schedules, trains, and oversees environmental technicians and support staff
  • Prioritizes project tasks and assists with workload management to meet deadlines
  • Develops project management skills through management of assigned project tasks
  • Assists with preparation of proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates
  • Prepares environmental reports, performs technical analysis, and develops recommendations in collaboration with senior staff
