About The Position

Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking an Environmental Staff Project Manager to join our Environmental team in Atlanta, GA. This role will sit within ECS's Due Diligence department and is an excellent opportunity for an early-career environmental professional to continue to build expertise in Phase I ESA practice, develop client relationships, and grow within a 100% employee-owned firm. The Environmental Staff Project Manager will work under the supervision of senior staff to deliver Phase I ESAs while developing the technical skills, client communication abilities, and project management foundation necessary to advance within the ECS Environmental team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field applicable to environmental consulting
  • Minimum 1 year of environmental consulting experience with direct Phase I ESA experience required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs on occasion and traverse varied terrain during site reconnaissance
  • Basic knowledge of environmental principles and applications.
  • Basic knowledge of permitting processes, environmental regulations, and environmental test methods
  • Interest in project management, consulting, and business development.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds a number of times each day and walk on uneven ground through various terrains.
  • US Military ranks E-5 will qualify if they also meet the education requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Phase I ESAs including site reconnaissance, regulatory file review, database research, and report preparation under the supervision of a qualified Environmental Professional
  • Prepare clear, well-organized Phase I ESA reports consistent with ASTM E1527-21 standards and ECS quality requirements
  • Communicate project status and findings to both senior staff and clients
  • Assist with project closeout including delivery of final reports and follow-up with clients on findings
  • Assist senior staff with proposal preparation, project scheduling, and administrative aspects of project delivery
  • Develop familiarity with project budgets and change orders
  • Engage professionally with clients throughout project delivery, building the communication skills and relationships that form the foundation of long-term client development
  • Support peer review of deliverables prepared by others as experience develops
  • Work closely with senior staff to build technical knowledge, field skills, and report writing ability
  • Participate in internal ECS Phase I ESA training
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and demonstrate initiative in learning ECS processes, standards, and client expectations with an eye toward growing into a project management role
