About The Position

The Environmental Specialist role focuses on maintaining a high standard of store cleanliness and recovery, ensuring a positive brand experience for customers. This involves delivering friendly customer service, assisting shoppers, and performing various cleaning duties according to approved procedures. The role also includes deep cleaning key areas, managing cleaning supplies, and adhering to all federal, state, and county guidelines. Maintaining positive interactions and projecting a professional image are key aspects of this position. Additional duties may include customer checkout, promoting loyalty programs, assisting with omnichannel processes, participating in stocking and merchandising, and supporting safety and loss prevention programs.

Requirements

Must be at least sixteen (16) years or older.
Applicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.

Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures.
Dusts and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
Moves equipment and products for proper cleaning and places products back in correct placement.
Cleans assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment.
Mixes water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Deep cleans key areas of the store including bathrooms, breakrooms, entry ways and other high traffic areas.
Keeps cleaning equipment neat and orderly and notifies supervisor of supply needs.
Seeks out areas requiring cleaning and takes initiative to complete the task.
Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
Maintains positive and respectful interactions with both team members and customers.
Projects a positive image and serves as a role model for other Team Members.
Provides a fast and friendly check out experience and executes cash handling to standards.
Engages customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and completes enrollments.
Assists with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
Participates in the truck un-load, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
Supports shrink and safety programs.
Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
Executes Company policies and standards.
