EllisDon uses AI tools to assist in screening and assessing applicants for this position. You as an Environmental Coordinator will: Support project teams, pursuit teams, and internal stakeholders by helping identify environmental risks, information gaps, and next steps early. Help coordinate environmental planning and support activities related to issues such as erosion and sediment control, dewatering, groundwater, contaminated soil, permitting, and environmental protection measures. Prepare and review Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and Environmental Protection Plans (EPPs), ensuring they meet regulatory, contractual, and EllisDon corporate standards. Assist teams in interpreting environmental requirements, consultant recommendations, and project-specific obligations in a way that is practical and easy to act on. Escalate unclear, higher-risk, or more complex issues early so they can be addressed efficiently. Support the implementation of corporate environmental expectations, templates, and tools across regions and business lines. Help prepare, update, and maintain practical templates, trackers, checklists, and guidance documents that make environmental planning easier for project teams. Contribute to the ongoing evolution of EllisDon’s Environmental Management System (EMS) into a more consistent, modern, ISO 14001-aligned framework. Help manage environmental requests, deliverables, and follow-up actions so work is organized, visible, and moving forward. Maintain folders, records, trackers, and supporting documentation to improve team coordination and reduce administrative burden. Support environmental reporting, KPI tracking, and trend analysis by helping organize data and turn it into useful information for the team. Work with internal partners across HSE, Sustainability, Legal, Operations, and Bid/Pursuits to help ensure environmental risk is considered early and managed consistently. Support regional teams in implementing corporate environmental expectations and practical risk management approaches. Participate in site visits, internal reviews, and other activities that help strengthen consistency and raise the baseline of environmental practice across the organization.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of environmental experience in construction, infrastructure, remediation, civil works, or similar environments.
  • Working knowledge of environmental permitting, approvals, and regulatory requirements in construction settings.
  • Experience supporting project teams, field teams, or construction operations on environmental matters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize clearly, highlight key points, and provide practical next steps.
  • Good judgment and proportionality — you know when to keep things simple, when to escalate, and when deeper review is needed.
  • A service-oriented mindset — you look for ways to reduce burden, improve clarity, and help others move work forward.
  • Strong organizational habits, including tracking work, following through on details, and keeping others informed on priorities, progress, and blockers.
  • Comfort working through ambiguity and supporting multiple tasks or files at once.
  • The ability to balance technical rigor with practicality, pace, and team support.
