About The Position

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for an Environmental Specialist Trainee to join the Technical and Environmental Services Group at the BWI Marshall Airport field office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading team that provides environmental solutions to the public and private sectors throughout the State of Maryland. This field office is a designated 24/7 emergency essential facility. Therefore, the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions will be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, in environmental science, ecology, or related field.
  • Valid driver’s license with less than 5 points.
  • Ability to obtain a Homeland Security Clearance and pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) pre-employment physical exam.
  • Must be able to perform confined space entry and lift 50 pounds.
  • Strong orally and written communication skills.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with environmental compliance, environmental mitigation and remediation, and/or recycling & sustainability programs
  • Experience working within a dynamic, high demand environment.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, inspection, monitoring, compliance reporting, client interaction, and personnel management for the recycling and stormwater inspection/maintenance projects at BWI and Martin State Airports
  • Providing support to other environmental projects, as needed.
