About The Position

This position is onsite at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii (Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam), requires a CAC, and a favorable Tier 1/NACI-SF85 background investigation. Manages, coordinates, and evaluates installation environmental compliance and conservation programs. Provides technical support for environmental records transition, project planning, regulatory coordination, field inspections, hazardous-material assessments, and environmental corrective actions.

Requirements

• Performs other duties as may be assigned.
• This position requires a Common Access Card (CAC), the ability to pass the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) clearance to acquire a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; may occasionally require standing or moving about the office for extended periods.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, or related natural-science field from an accredited institution within the 50 United States.
• Minimum five years of environmental-program-management experience.
• Minimum three years of military facility or infrastructure experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience supporting Air Force, DoD, or federal environmental compliance and conservation programs.
• Experience with environmental permitting, regulatory coordination, hazardous materials, remediation, asbestos, lead-based paint, and natural-resources compliance.
• Professional environmental certification or credential relevant to assigned program areas.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental compliance and conservation program activities for host and tenant organizations.
• Apply federal, state, DoD, Air Force, and applicable Hawaii environmental requirements.
• Identify environmental compliance risks, mitigation needs, abatement requirements, and corrective actions.
• Lead transition of environmental records from Navy systems to designated Air Force repositories.
• Maintain organized environmental records, SharePoint repositories, NexGen IT documentation, and other required data products.
• Develop or review environmental project plans, specifications, cost estimates, studies, mitigation actions, and abatement-project documentation.
• Coordinate with CES personnel to integrate environmental requirements into infrastructure and facility planning and design.
• Prepare permit applications, coordinate with regulators, support inspections, respond to notices of violation, and track corrective actions through closure.
• Manage internal inspection schedules, criteria, checklists, findings, and corrective-action trackers.
• Conduct or oversee field work, including water, soil, asbestos-containing material, lead-based paint, wildlife, and compliance inspections.
• Evaluate hazardous-material surveys, abatement and remediation proposals, environmental-condition assessments, and environmental-service acquisitions.
• Prepare data-analysis reports, technical presentations, visual communication products, meeting materials, and stakeholder communications.
