About The Position

This position provides specialized transportation and disposal services to clients. It involves sampling and profiling waste material, manifesting and packaging, spill-cleanup response and remedial activities, labeling, loading and off-loading, and coordinating transportation. The role requires adherence to state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations, along with applicable company policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
Prior work experience in the hazardous-waste or related industry.
40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous (H) endorsement.
Environmental Specialist II Competency Test.
Strong team-player skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines.
Strong customer-service orientation.
Computer proficiency.
Ability to follow through on assignments.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science discipline.

Responsibilities

Sample and profile waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures.
Manifest and package materials; perform spill-cleanup response and remedial activities; label, load, off-load, and coordinate transportation.
Understand disposal-site capabilities and limitations before shipment to support efficient disbursement and storage.
Maintain a professional image with clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing or potential problems.
Comply with and enforce compliance, health, safety, and procedural requirements under VES-TS policies.
Complete paperwork in compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and VES-TS policies and procedures.
Operate and maintain equipment professionally to support efficient and effective project completion in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
