About The Position

SHELADIA Associates is seeking to build a high-performing team of Environmental & Social (E&S) Experts to support a large-scale, multi-year program aligned with international development finance institutions. This opportunity involves working on diverse global projects requiring rapid mobilization, technical excellence, and strict compliance with international environmental and social standards. Selected professionals will contribute to screening, due diligence, monitoring, and advisory services across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, mining, telecommunications, agriculture, and healthcare. The role involves task-order-based assignments with defined scope, timeline, and budget, combining remote work with international field missions, and maintaining high standards for quality, speed, and compliance. This recruitment is in support of an upcoming proposal submission for a large international program, with all positions contingent upon contract award and client approval.

Requirements

  • Senior Environmental & Social Specialist: 10+ years of experience (DFI/MDB project experience required), expertise in IFC Performance Standards, Environmental & Social Policies and Procedures (ESPP), and complex due diligence (resettlement, biodiversity, labor, stakeholder engagement, cumulative impacts, Indigenous Peoples). Master’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Environmental & Social Specialist: 5+ years of experience, expertise in environmental impact assessments, environmental & social management plans, and sector-specific risk analysis. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Subject Matter Experts (SMEs): 12+ years of experience in areas such as biodiversity, climate change, resettlement, air/water quality, social risk, technical risk (e.g., HAZOP, QRA). Advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Experience in at least one of the following sectors: Oil & gas, mining, infrastructure, telecom, agriculture, healthcare.
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality and conflict-of-interest policies.
  • Compliance with federal travel, security, and accessibility standards.

Nice To Haves

  • DFI/MDB project experience preferred for Senior Environmental & Social Specialist.
  • Master’s degree or higher preferred for Senior Environmental & Social Specialist.
  • Master’s degree preferred for Environmental & Social Specialist.
  • Advanced degree preferred for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

Responsibilities

  • Screening, due diligence, monitoring, and advisory services across various sectors.
  • Deliverables include screening memos, red-flag reports, due diligence and gap analysis reports, monitoring reports, corrective action plans, technical assessments, training materials, SOPs, and monthly progress reports.
  • Participate in kickoff and coordination meetings.
  • Execute task order-based assignments with defined scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Perform a combination of remote work and international field missions.
  • Adhere to strict standards for quality, speed, and compliance.
