About The Position

Indiana Packers Corporation is hiring a full-time Environmental Services employee to perform janitorial and laundry duties at its Delphi, Indiana facility. The role cleans and sanitizes building areas, including floors, stairs, bathrooms, locker rooms, and commonly used surfaces, and supports laundry and supply-room operations. The position works Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with some weekend work and possible daily or weekly overtime. Employees must follow safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. The role offers on-the-job training and pays $19.80 per hour for the third shift.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work daily or weekly overtime.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and be resourceful in meeting tasks and deadlines.
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and push or pull wheeled laundry carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods and perform strenuous physical labor.
• Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination.
• Ability to move arms and legs quickly and climb stairs and ladders.
• Excellent stamina and vision.
• Ability to work around moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, dust, heat, humidity, cold, outdoor conditions, and inclement weather.
• Ability to work in a loud environment where hearing protection is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean building interiors, floors, and stairs by sweeping and mopping.
• Operate floor scrubbers and floor waxers.
• Wash and clean windows, mirrors, and walls.
• Restock, clean, and sanitize restrooms and locker rooms.
• Disinfect commonly used surfaces, including tabletops, door handles, sinks, and bathroom stalls.
• Collect and dispose of trash.
• Stock and distribute frocks and uniforms from racks.
• Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris.
• Wash and dry dirty gloves, polar sleeves, polar gloves, and mop heads using washing machines and dryers as directed by management.
• Sort and stage clean laundry and equipment for the supply room throughout the day.
• Clean the dryer filter daily as trained.
• Hand out supplies in the supply/knife room, including exchanging gloves and aprons.
• Perform minor maintenance, such as changing batteries, assembling carts, tightening screws, and refilling paper and soap dispensers.
• Stock and maintain the janitorial closet.
• Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions.
• Comply with safety regulations, including wearing proper PPE.
• Attend work consistently and adhere to scheduled working hours.
