About The Position

The Environmental Service Worker I helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by performing cleaning, floor-care, and waste-management tasks in assigned areas. The role supports the comfort and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors while following infection-control, safety, regulatory, and HIPAA protocols. The worker also maintains cleaning equipment, restocks supplies, assists with minor maintenance, and reports facility issues or equipment problems.

Requirements

Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products.
Understanding of infection-control and safety standards.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment effectively and safely.
Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with staff, patients, and visitors.
Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift or move objects as needed.

Nice To Haves

One to two years of cleaning or environmental-services experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize assigned rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other workspaces in accordance with infection-control standards.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, furniture, and equipment using appropriate tools and techniques.
Maintain hard and carpeted surfaces, including stripping, refinishing, and treating floors and upholstery according to department procedures.
Wash walls, ceilings, windows, woodwork, door panels, and other surfaces.
Restock supplies in designated areas, monitor inventory, and report shortages.
Collect, transport, and dispose of trash and biohazardous materials in compliance with safety and HIPAA protocols.
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and report malfunctions or repair needs.
Assist with minor repairs or maintenance and promptly report larger facility issues to appropriate personnel.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Comply with all policies and standards.
