About The Position

Performs environmental cleaning services for the Institution following standards established by Industry Standards, ES Department, and Infectious Control measures to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role involves both routine cleaning and specialized functions, as well as assisting with facility maintenance and support tasks.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of previous floor technician experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Be available to work as scheduled and report to work on time.
  • Be willing to accept supervision and work well with others.
  • Be well groomed, appropriately for your role and wear ID Badge visibly.
  • Be in compliance with all departmental and institutional policies, the Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and completes NetLearning by due date annually.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily cleaning functions including vacuuming carpets, dust mopping tile floors, cleaning and disinfecting bathroom surfaces, damp wiping surfaces, wet mopping tile floors, using properly diluted chemicals, high dusting, using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies, and trash removal.
  • Removes biohazard waste containers throughout the facility as instructed.
  • Performs specialty cleaning functions such as wall and window washing, cleaning vacated areas, vent cleaning, sweeping stairwells, vacuuming elevator tracks, shower and tile scrubbing, and special disinfecting cleaning.
  • Observes the facility to identify potential problem areas and reports facility or equipment malfunctions, suspicious persons, and safety hazards.
  • Assists coworkers with setting up or rearranging furniture for meetings, audio-visual equipment setup, and furniture/equipment moves.
  • Picks up materials for recycling or shredding.
  • Performs linen functions, including delivering, removing, and reporting weights of linen removed.
  • Performs shampoo extraction of carpeting and furniture from spills and stains.
  • Performs stripping and waxing tile floors, spray buffing, and bonnet cleaning of floors.
  • Participates in snow removal as part of the snow removal team, using a shovel or small tractor to keep walkways and building entrances clear.
  • Assists with major cleaning due to facility problems such as floods, water pipe breaks, cafeteria spills, and accidents.
