About The Position

Spur Environmental Services is currently seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented, and safe Environmental Services Technician. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, is reliable, and considers themselves a go-getter. They enjoy working outside with equipment daily, manage their time wisely, and feel accomplished after a hard day’s work. The role involves decision-making, being challenged, exercising sound judgment, and a desire to learn new skills, be part of a team, and advance within a growing company. The job involves preparing and testing equipment, stocking industrial units, reviewing daily agendas and safety plans, mobilizing to job sites, setting up work zones, and using industrial power washers and vacuum equipment to clean various industrial components. Responsibilities also include sweeping, cleaning, shoveling materials, operating machinery like forklifts and skid steers, ensuring work area safety, cleaning work zones, and rehabilitating industrial units. The position may require on-call duties.

Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work
  • Class C license required
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule including overtime and periodic weekends.
  • Travel Periodically
  • Required to be clean shaven to wear a respirator, as needed. (Mustache Acceptable)
  • Good driving record with less than 3 violations in the last 3 years
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
  • Basic computer skills to clock In/Out, Upload Project Photos and Notes into App.
  • Promote teamwork

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in oil/gas, construction, environmental industries, pressure washing, vacuum trucks, waste handling, confined space and/or equipment operating.
  • 1 year of general labor experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, test equipment, and stock industrial units with supplies and PPE.
  • Check in and review daily agenda, task goals, and project Safety Plan with supervisor/manager.
  • Safely mobilize to job site, set up a tidy work zone and don proper PPE.
  • Work with industrial power washers (4,000 - 40,000 psi) and supported vacuum equipment (Vac Trucks, Hydro Vacs, Porta-Vacs, Pumps, etc.) to clean pits, sumps, tanks/tankers and trailers.
  • Sweep, clean, and/or shovel materials into appropriate waste packaging.
  • Operate a forklift, aerial lift, skid steer, loader or other machinery, as needed.
  • Ensure the work area is safe at all times and look out for the safety of the team.
  • Clean the work zone and leave it in better condition than when the team arrived.
  • Demobilize back to the company shop.
  • Rehabilitate industrial unit by re-stocking supplies, PPE, and small equipment and tools.
  • Sweep and wash industrial unit and truck in preparation for the following days tasks.
  • Remain prepared for on-call needs throughout the night if scheduled.
