About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID is hiring a full-time Environmental Services Technician (Housekeeper). This role is responsible for providing a clean and safe environment for staff, visitors, and patients within the hospital. The position involves disinfecting patient treatment areas, staff and visitor areas to maximize infection prevention, enhance patient safety, ensure EOC compliance, and improve the visual appeal of assigned areas. It also includes the collection, storage, and disposal of various types of waste and soiled linen, interacting with patients and visitors, performing project work such as cubicle curtain changes and floor refinishing, and preparing patient rooms for new occupants.

Requirements

Ability to disinfect patient treatment areas.
Ability to handle collection, storage, and disposal of general medical, biohazard, pharmaceutical, chemotherapy, sharps and soiled linen products.
Ability to interact verbally with patients and visitors.
Ability to perform project work such as cubicle curtain changes, construction cleanup, floor refinishing, carpet cleaning, wall washing, refrigerator cleaning, and other projects.
Ability to prepare patient rooms, exam rooms and patient support areas for new patients including disinfection, bed making, floor care, and supplies replenishment.

Responsibilities

Disinfect patient treatment, invasive care areas, staff and visitor areas to maximize infection prevention, enhance patient safety, ensure EOC compliance and enhance the visual appeal of assigned areas in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Perform collection, storage, and disposal of general medical, biohazard, pharmaceutical, chemotherapy, sharps and soiled linen products from patient treatment areas in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Interact verbally with patients and visitors to provide directions, hospital information, guest room services and general hospitality.
Perform project work to include cubicle curtain changes, construction cleanup, floor refinishing, carpet cleaning, wall washing, refrigerator cleaning, and other projects as assigned.
Prepares patient rooms, exam rooms and patient support areas for new patients including disinfection, bed making, floor care, and supplies replenishment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
