The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for thorough cleaning of assigned areas, adhering to all organizational policies and procedures, and observing all isolation procedures and Infection Prevention Standards. This role requires knowledge of correct chemicals for different pathogens, maintaining EVS equipment and supplies, and replenishing paper and soap supplies. The technician will also perform special project assignments, move furniture and equipment, and properly mix and store chemicals. Additionally, they will make beds, utilize bed tracking systems, respond to supervisor calls, and ensure dismissal rooms are ready for the next patient. The role involves proper handling, transport, and disposal of various waste types, including hazardous and infectious waste, and requires completing DOT Certification for packaging and transporting regulated medical waste. The technician will also perform scheduled floor cleaning, carpet spot cleaning, and operate various cleaning equipment.
