Augusta Health is seeking Environmental Services Technicians who speak English as a second language to join our paid English Language Learner (ELL) Program. This unique program is designed to help participants strengthen their English communication skills while gaining valuable work experience in a supportive healthcare environment. The paid 10-week program combines hands-on work experience with classroom learning, focusing on improving English speaking confidence, workplace communication, and understanding job-related safety and work instructions. The program offers paid English language instruction (2 hours daily, Monday-Thursday), flexible work schedules (Full-Time or Part-Time), bilingual support, and career development opportunities. Participants starting in part-time roles may have opportunities to increase hours and become eligible for benefits. The training shift is Monday-Thursday, 2:45 p.m. – 11:15 p.m., with post-training schedules being evening shifts. An interpreter is available for the interview and hiring process. The Environmental Services Technician (EVS Tech) plays a critical role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, families, visitors, and team members. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms and public areas, replenishing supplies, following safety and infection prevention standards, and helping maintain a comfortable, healing environment. No experience is required, though previous cleaning or healthcare experience is helpful.
