About The Position

The Environmental Services (Housekeeping) Technician maintains a clean and safe hospital environment by cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms and assigned areas, following infection prevention standards, PPE guidelines, and healthcare safety protocols. The role includes safely working in patient-care areas with contact, droplet, and airborne isolation precautions, as well as cleaning areas where exposure to bodily fluids or other healthcare-related materials may occur. The technician also supports daily facility and department operations and provides compassionate, respectful service to patients, families, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms and assigned areas according to infection prevention standards.
• Follow PPE guidelines and healthcare safety protocols.
• Safely clean patient-care areas requiring contact, droplet, or airborne isolation precautions.
• Safely clean areas where exposure to bodily fluids and other healthcare-related materials may occur, following established safety procedures.
• Perform floor care, window and wall cleaning, waste removal, linen transport, and other housekeeping duties.
• Maintain organized supply areas and support department needs.
• Participate in team huddles, training, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Provide excellent service while demonstrating compassion and respect for patients, families, and coworkers.
