About The Position

As our Environmental Services Technician, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards. Every day, you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility. This role requires you to learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You may also refill soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and other supplies, as well as deliver clean linens. To be successful in this role, you are thorough and committed to safety. You truly are the most important component contributing to the safety and comfort of our patients, visitors, and staff. Requirements

High School Graduate General Studies and Previous healthcare experience., upon hire

Responsibilities

Completing daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning of patient care areas, equipment, and common areas using established healthcare disinfecting principles.
Adhering to all safety, risk management, and infection control standards, including hand hygiene, isolation precautions, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Identifying and transporting various waste streams (regulated medical, recycle, solid, and hazardous) to appropriate disposal areas in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Maintaining cleaning carts and supplies according to standard work setups and safely handling all chemicals and equipment.
Actively participating in departmental initiatives to improve the patient experience and cleanliness metrics.
