About The Position

The Environmental Services Technician performs complete cleaning of assigned areas, handles cleaning chemicals, removes waste, maintains equipment, and ensures a safe and quality working environment. This role involves repetitive work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment, with exposure to various conditions and individuals. The technician must maintain technical knowledge through in-service education and training.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
One year experience preferred.
Ability to operate equipment.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers.

Works occasionally in extreme temperatures and around unpleasant smells.

Responsibilities

Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas including dusting, sanitizing, washing, sweeping, scrubbing, refinishing floors, vacuuming, shampooing carpet, re-stocking restrooms, replacing light bulbs, and reporting repairs.
Handles cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers and finishes. May assist with outdoor cleaning including parking lot, windows and roof, and may use a ladder.
Removes waste by collecting and transporting soiled linen, emptying trash containers, changing sharps containers, transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors, recycling material, and emptying cigarette receptacles.
Keeps job-associated equipment clean and orderly, and reports equipment failures or mechanical issues.
Maintains a safe working environment and provides quality service by complying with procedures, rules, regulations, infection control guidelines, and departmental quality standards.
Attends all required in-service education and training classes, including safety update programs.
Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.
