About The Position

This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. The role involves working full-time (40 hrs/wk) on the Evening / Night shift (5:00pm - 1:30am). Specific assignments include trash removal, cleaning stairwells and elevators, and rotating weekends and holidays. The position requires adaptability to different situations and personalities, the ability to work independently, and comfort in environments with chaos while maintaining motivation without direct supervision. It is a physically demanding job requiring standing/walking for 8 hours constantly, bending, lifting, good hand dexterity, good vision, and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work safely.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours constantly.
  • Must be able to bend and get down and up easily.
  • Must have good hand dexterity.
  • Must be able to bend and lift loads.
  • Must have good vision and attention to detail.
  • Reliable and dependable.

Nice To Haves

  • Floorcare experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition.
  • Meeting hospital and Joint Commission standards.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
  • Using cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
  • Properly disposing of infectious waste and trash.
  • Handling and cleaning up emergency spills per department guidelines, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
  • Following all infection prevention practices, including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintaining work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.
  • Assisting with floor care projects or filling in on maintenance when the regular Floor Care caregiver is off (preferred).
