About The Position

Sentara Health is hiring a Full-time, Night Shift, Environmental Services Tech III (Floor Tech) at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is primarily responsible for the maintenance of floors, which includes practicing safe work habits through the appropriate use of chemicals, various equipment, and cleaning applications such as mopping, scouring, scrubbing, stripping, and polishing. The technician will also be cross-trained to Environmental Services Technician I (EST I) competencies to provide general cleaning duties when necessary. Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is a 273-bed facility and home to the region’s only Level III Trauma Center. It has a long history of commitment to its communities, offering specialized tertiary services and advanced clinical services in areas like heart, vascular, neuroscience, neurosurgery, orthopedics and spine care, cancer care, advanced imaging, and behavioral health. Requirements

  • Less than a year Environmental Associate Experience (Required)
  • 1 year of housekeeping/ESD experience in lieu of High School Education (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Floor Tech Experience (Preferred)
  • Healthcare/Hospitality Experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintenance of floors.
  • Practices safe work habits through the appropriate use of chemicals, various equipment and cleaning applications to include: mopping, scouring, scrubbing, stripping and polishing.
  • Cross trained to EST I competencies in order to provide cleaning duties when necessary.
