This position performs patient room and ancillary area daily cleaning according to departmental and corporate standards. This includes all isolation/terminal cleaning of rooms (including negative pressure/airborne) and cleaning of any equipment used in patient rooms. The goal is to ensure customer service quality standards are achieved and maintained by the Environmental Services Department. The role involves daily cleaning of patient rooms and ancillary areas, including the disposal of soiled linens and garbage. It also includes cleaning isolation/terminal rooms and patient discharges, as well as any equipment (except rental) used in patient rooms and ancillary areas. The technician is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly housekeeping cart and equipment, utilizing and mixing cleaning chemicals safely and cost-effectively, and ensuring all bottled chemicals are labeled. They will also maintain adequate supplies of paper products, hand soap, seat covers, sanitary napkins, and sharps containers, and remove/replace full sharps containers. The role may involve accessing secured medication storage locations for job-related functions. A positive, customer service-minded environment is fostered through teamwork, enthusiasm, pride in work, and a positive work attitude. Daily communication with the manager is expected to exchange information, resolve concerns, and maintain customer service standards. The technician will observe and report any equipment, furniture, fixtures, carpet, curtains, and walls in need of repair. Adherence to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures is required.
