The Environmental Services Technician I at Advocate Christ Hospital & Medical Center is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting various areas within the hospital and/or off-site facilities, including patient rooms, offices, restrooms, elevators, and stairwells. This role requires operating cleaning equipment, using appropriate chemicals and solutions according to department policies, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Key aspects of the position include ensuring customer satisfaction through positive interactions, thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing rooms after patient discharges, replenishing supplies, and managing waste collection, including hazardous and medical waste. The technician must adhere to Standard (Universal) Precautions, Infection Control Policies, and safety regulations. Other duties involve preparing cleaning solutions, sweeping, mopping, spot cleaning, shampooing carpets and furniture, moving and arranging furniture, reporting safety hazards, and maintaining professional growth through mandatory training and meetings. Punctuality and adherence to attendance policies are also essential.
