About The Position

As an Environmental Services Associate, you'll play a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. Your efforts will directly contribute to the quality of care provided at UPMC Trinty!

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to distinguish the differences between levels of disinfection and perform lor and intermediate level disinfection.
• Ability to operate necessary equipment/machines.
• Ability to work without close supervision
• Respectfully list to viewpoints and ideas of others.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and maintain patient rooms, public areas and equipment following established procedures.
• Prepare rooms for new patients (including bed-making and discharge cleaning).
• Adhere to all organizational safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety.
• Maintain cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment.
• Remove waste and transport to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste stream handling (recycle, solid, hazardous etc.).
• Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA).
• May be asked to perform tasks according to various facility needs, including conference room set ups.
• Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors
• Performs other duties as assigned.
