About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This position is within Hutchinson Village, a 65-bed senior skilled nursing facility specializing in long-term and post-acute care services. The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas for patients/residents, visitors, and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred
Ability to use computer
Prior cleaning experience is helpful
Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful
Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required
Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred

Responsibilities

Emptying waste baskets
Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines
Demonstrate knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools and techniques in a healthcare environment; ability to apply this to provide a clean and sterile environment for patients/residents and facility staff
Clean patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met
Wear the proper protective equipment following the appropriate guidelines
Keep storage, equipment and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
Use pagers and other technology appropriately when needed
Assist in the laundry areas as appropriate
Use of technology applications may be available depending on location and availability of programs
