Supervise and coordinate staffing and daily operations for the PM shift (2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.); rotate to other shifts as needed to meet departmental and operational needs. Prepare and maintain staff schedules, process scheduling changes, accurately track paid time off (PTO), and complete timecards for payroll processing. Conduct ATP testing in patient care areas and the Operating Room suite to monitor cleaning effectiveness. Perform routine room inspections and quality assurance evaluations. Monitor, test, and replace departmental cleaning chemicals as required. Order and maintain inventory of cleaning chemicals, environmental services supplies, and patient care linen. Utilize basic computer applications and effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrate proficiency in all Environmental Services and Linen Department positions and perform departmental duties as operational needs require. Operate and maintain laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironers, folders, and lift baskets. Coordinate linen collection, sorting, processing, distribution, and transfers to satellite locations. Ensure proper handling and use of cleaning chemicals in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and safety standards. Perform environmental support duties, including waste removal, furniture movement, patient equipment relocation, sharps container replacement, biohazard trailer and compactor management, curtain changes, and floor care operations. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, OSHA regulations, and departmental procedures. Train, coach, and provide ongoing guidance to staff while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and customer service.
