About The Position

This professional will be responsible for assisting in the planning, directing, implementing, coordinating and improving the Environmental Services Department at Halifax Health. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree stongly preferred.
  • Proven knowledge and training in supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Thorough knowledge in all cleaning procedures.
  • Monitoring of established safety procedures.
  • Monitoring of established Infection Control Practices.
  • Ability to train oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to train Environmental Aides, Environmental Techs, Environmental Floor Care Techs, Specialists and Team Leaders according to their job description.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Environmental Services Software Applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervision in the cleaning industry preferred.
  • Experience in cleaning and floor care procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Environmental Aides, Environmental Techs, Floor Care Techs, Specialists and Team Leaders in the following functions: Patient and Public Area Cleaning, Detail Cleaning, Preventative Maintenance, Trash Removal, Project Work, Floor Care, Terminal Cleaning, Bed Tracking, Bioquell
  • Round prior to the start of assigned shift. Round approximately an hour after the start of assigned shift and a minimum of two (2) other rounds to inspect and spot check performance of assigned Team Members in all assigned areas.
  • Supervision and daily operations of assigned Team Members.
  • Distributes equipment and supplies.
  • Department orientation and training.
  • Customer Service - maintains meaningful, timely communication with unit coordinators, nurse mangers and department managers. Follow Halifax Health Cornerstone culture.
  • Maintains and performs monthly Quality Control and ATP inspections on each team member area.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by departmental Operations Coordinator and Manager.
  • Conducts daily Safety Huddles with team members.
  • Attends Environmental Services Leadership Meetings.
