About The Position

Responsible for the performance of all duties related to keeping all areas of the hospital and associated buildings clean. The EVS/Laundry Supervisor supervises EVS/Laundry caregivers including but not limited to, making schedules, doing bi-weekly payroll, ordering and distributing supplies, and handling EVS/Laundry personnel issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School graduate equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience, required.
  • Computer proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Hazardous waste management procedures including emergency response and contingency plan implementation within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter
  • Minimum of years (3) years laundry and/or environmental services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and teach how, when, and which chemicals are used to clean with.
  • Teach how to clean and prepare beds.
  • Teach how to clean rooms and bathrooms correctly.
  • Clean floors correctly and teach others to do the same.
  • Supervise others who clean offices and non-clinical as well as clinical areas and make sure that it is done correctly.
  • Supervise all aspects of laundry services.
  • Check all areas, on a regular basis, to ensure that they are clean and free of debris.
  • Report any problems regarding the Housekeeping Department to the Facility Manager.
  • Supervise the maintenance of all floors to make sure that it is being done correctly.
  • Make sure that the biohazard and trash containers are picked up regularly and are clean.
  • Manage the ordering and storage of all supplies and equipment used in EVS/Laundry.
  • Be responsible for the scheduling of the EVS/Laundry departments.
  • Create and implement appropriate Policies and Procedures to guide the safe and effective operation of the departments including training materials for new caregivers to learn how to work effectively in the departments.
  • Be responsible for the implementation of the organization’s Values and Behavioral Standards within the departments.
  • Take on-call for departmental needs.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and hire to maintain that level.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Director.
