About The Position

This role involves assisting the Director of Housekeeping with daily operations, providing training, coaching, and counseling to Housekeeping employees. The position also facilitates the hiring process, including interviewing, training, and evaluating job performance, and offers ongoing training and development. Key responsibilities include managing administrative duties such as payroll, operating expenses, and forecasting, as well as completing weekly employee schedules and monthly inventory and supply orders. The role also oversees the organization of supply storage areas, ensures proper chemical dispensing stations are labeled according to HAZCOM standards, and maintains high standards for these areas. Daily pre-shift meetings are conducted to communicate facility information on events and compliance guidelines. The manager issues daily assignment checklists, coordinates special cleaning projects with supervisors, and posts monthly and weekly facility project schedules. Maintaining key logs, conducting daily inspections in public areas, researching and obtaining bids for equipment replacement, and organizing monthly contract cleaning services are also part of the role. Weekly equipment inspections and reporting defects to the Engineering team are required, along with developing and supporting safety awareness programs with Human Resources. This position has supervisory responsibility over the Housekeeping department, supervising 50 to 75 employees directly and 50 employees indirectly.

Requirements

  • Associate/Technical Degree; 3-5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests and community members.
  • Ability to perform basic math skills.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect data, analyze, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge; competent in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Walking 35% of the time.
  • Sitting 20% of the time.
  • Standing 15% of the time.
  • Bending and lifting 30% of the time.
  • Lifting/moving maximum of 250 lbs.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
  • Walking and standing are required during the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning/inspection tasks.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and subordinates.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Housekeeping with day-to-day operations.
  • Provide training, coaching, and counseling to all Housekeeping employees.
  • Facilitate hiring process, to include interviewing, training, and evaluating job performance.
  • Provide ongoing training and development to all positions.
  • Manage administrative duties, including payroll, operating expenses, and weekly forecasting reports.
  • Complete weekly employee schedules to ensure coverage of public areas.
  • Complete monthly inventory and supply orders.
  • Oversee organization of supply storage areas; ensure proper chemicals dispensing stations are labeled according to HAZCOM standards and are maintained in established high standards.
  • Communicate facility information on events and compliance guidelines by conducting pre-shift meetings daily.
  • Issue daily assignment checklists.
  • Coordinate all special cleaning projects with supervisors and complete and post monthly and weekly facility project schedule for the department (i.e., window cleaning, hard floor, carpet cleaning, restaurants, and back of the house areas, etc.).
  • Maintain key logs according to established standards.
  • Conduct daily inspections in public areas to ensure established high standards are met.
  • Research and obtain bids for equipment replacement and conduct testing.
  • Organize, schedule, and coordinate monthly contract cleaning services (i.e., windows).
  • Conduct weekly equipment inspections; report any defects to Engineering team.
  • Develop with Human Resources and support safety awareness programs.
  • Supervisory responsibility over Housekeeping department.
  • Supervise 50 to 75 employees.
  • Supervise 50 employees indirectly.
