About The Position

An EVS porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and orderly appearance of a facility. Key duties include cleaning common areas (lobbies, hallways, restrooms), removing trash and regulated medical waste, performing light grounds maintenance, and maintaining cleanliness in non-patient care areas.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Communicates and coordinates with clinical and non-clinical staff
  • Communicates and coordinates with service line leads
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
  • Must have excellent organization skills.
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to anticipate and change with the environment as needed
  • Ability to maintain the physical demands of the job, push/pull heavy equipment - 50lbs
  • Knowledge of safety, quality and joint commission standards as it relates to the department.
  • Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning windows or glass surfaces in public and non-patient care areas.
  • Scrub and buff hard flooring, shampoo and extract carpet.
  • Daily disposal of waste from soiled utilities, common areas, offices, and perimeter grounds.
  • Ensuring restrooms are sanitized, clean, and fully stocked with supplies.
  • Cleaning parking lots, walkways, and maintaining the "curb appeal" of the property.
  • Reporting maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or needed repairs to management.
  • Employees must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital.
