About The Position

An EVS porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and orderly appearance of a facility. Key duties include cleaning common areas (lobbies, hallways, restrooms), removing trash and regulated medical waste, performing light grounds maintenance, and maintaining cleanliness in non-patient care areas.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Required
Communicates and coordinates with clinical and non-clinical staff
Communicates and coordinates with service line leads
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
Must have excellent organization skills.
Detail oriented
Ability to anticipate and change with the environment as needed
Ability to maintain the physical demands of the job, push/pull heavy equipment - 50lbs
Knowledge of safety, quality and joint commission standards as it relates to the department.
Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital.

Responsibilities

Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning windows or glass surfaces in public and non-patient care areas.
Scrub and buff hard flooring, shampoo and extract carpet.
Daily disposal of waste from soiled utilities, common areas, offices, and perimeter grounds.
Ensuring restrooms are sanitized, clean, and fully stocked with supplies.
Cleaning parking lots, walkways, and maintaining the "curb appeal" of the property.
Reporting maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or needed repairs to management.
