Shift: Swing, 4:00pm-12:30am
Location: Singing River Ocean Springs Hospital

Position Overview:
The Environmental Services OR Aide maintains environmental and infection control standards within the established policies and procedures of the Health System for the Operating Room and Labor & Delivery. He/She performs a variety of general cleaning and linen tasks within the Operating / Labor & Delivery Room to maintain the rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas. The Aide performs Terminal Cleaning on each operating room when assigned.
The Environmental Services Aide, when assigned, also performs tasks outside the Operating / Labor & Delivery Room such as patient room cleaning. He/She restocks linen carts and assembles linen packs for Surgical Services and Outpatient Surgery.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Six (6) months housekeeping experience working in a healthcare facility preferred.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and do a great deal of walking without experiencing undue fatigue.
• Must be able to handle objects and tools; regularly moves or lifts up to 25 lbs.
• Must demonstrate the ability to communicate, speak, and enunciate to express/exchange ideas and detailed information in person and on the telephone.
• Must demonstrate written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels.
• Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Must possess ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.).
