About The Position

The EVS Manager is responsible for the daily management and oversight of Environmental Services to ensure all health and safety compliance standards are met. This position administers efficient and cost-effective programs that ensure all areas of the university are clean and maintained. The manager is responsible for timekeeping/payroll, recruitment, employee relations, regulatory compliance, and performance evaluations for their direct reports. This position also analyzes data and adjusts procedures to meet departmental goals and serves as a liaison between the department and university administration. This position is responsible for employee scheduling, assigning duties, inspecting work, investigating service complaints, and recommending corrective action.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Strong working knowledge of custodial/environmental services operations is required.
  • Must have five (5) years of supervisory experience, preferably within a large institutional environment.
  • Ability to use computers and software related to facilities management and quality assurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience is preferred.
  • Courses in personnel management, budgeting, cleaning principles, and public relations are preferred.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
