About The Position

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent opportunity for a Lead Environmental Services Crew Leader at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center. Please note that Environmental Services department is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with Unite Here Local 11, and union membership is a condition of employment. The Lead Environmental Services Crew Leader supports the Environmental Services Manager in overseeing daily Environmental Services operations and ensuring a clean, safe, and guest-ready facility at all times. This role provides hands-on leadership to Environmental Services staff, coordinating assignments, monitoring performance, and ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently during events and shifts. The position is responsible for upholding safety standards, operational procedures, and service expectations while fostering a productive and accountable team environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-2 years of custodial or Environmental Services experience required
  • Some computer experience
  • Good organization skills
  • Good oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability to work irregular hours, shifts that include nights, graveyard shift, weekends and holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists manager on directing Environmental Services workers by assigning duties to crewmembers, create daily assignment sheets and see that assignments are completed.
  • Ensures all job assignments are completed during events or shifts.
  • Utilizes chemicals and materials necessary for the upkeep of the facility in accordance with MSDS, and ensures Environmental Services workers are using chemicals and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to standards.
  • Submits maintenance request orders for repairs and damages.
  • Monitors employee compliance of facility rules, regulation policies and procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Assists manager with department training, coaching, and counseling.
  • Follows and ensures Environmental Services workers are following established safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
  • Attends to and conforms to the policies established by Legends Global and the Environmental Services Department.
  • Attends weekly staff meetings and monthly safety meetings as necessary.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities of employees in the Environmental Services Department in accordance with Legends Global policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include assigning, and directing work for employees in the Environmental Services Department; training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
