Environmental Services Lead
About The Position
This role involves leading co-workers in the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services department (EVS) program. The Environmental Services Lead will confer with supervisory staff on job assignments, projects, and activities, and verify the completion of all assigned duties by Environmental Services staff according to EVS procedures. This position is also responsible for assisting in the scheduling of Environmental Services staff and adjusting the daily schedule to ensure proper staffing in all areas. The Lead will also function as an Environmental Services Tech, knowing all positions and responsibilities within the department. Key functions include a role in Hazardous Materials, spills and disaster plans, assisting in competencies, monitoring bed tracking, and monitoring lunch and breaks. The Lead will serve as a liaison between EVS and customers/staff as needed, coordinate projects/setups, assist with room inspections, and issue keys, pagers, and equipment. Suggestions for work improvement are also a responsibility. Additionally, the role involves supply and equipment use and maintenance, including assisting in training on new equipment and cleaning methods, and inspecting equipment and supplies for cleanliness and damage. The Lead will communicate associate performance, conduct, and issues to leadership. A strong commitment to customer satisfaction, exceeding expectations, and improving patient and customer satisfaction scores is essential. This includes maintaining a courteous attitude, utilizing the appropriate chain of command for complaints, maintaining confidential information, and presenting the department positively. The Lead will utilize AIDET with both internal and external customers, identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively, demonstrate a positive attitude in emergency and non-emergency situations, and display tact when dealing with other hospital personnel. The role also includes training associates and assisting in the Department Orientation Process, maintaining licenses and certificates, and fulfilling operating unit competencies and required training.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent leadership experience preferred.
- 3 years experience with at least one in Housekeeping
- Good communication skills
