We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented individuals to join our Environmental Services Housekeeping team. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of the facility to ensure a healthy and comfortable living and working environment. At Southeastern Virginia Training Center (SEVTC) we serve citizens with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are an intermediate care facility operated by the Department of Behavioral health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) where we support individuals in state-of-the-art homes with accommodations unique to their specific needs. Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• General knowledge of cleaning methods and use of cleaning supplies.
• Knowledge of safety practices related to housekeeping work.
• Self-directed and motivated with good attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions to perform required tasks

Nice To Haves

• Some experience in performing cleaning, dusting, dry mopping, wet mopping and other utility tasks

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of resident rooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Follow established cleaning procedures and infection control standards.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Dispose of trash and recycling in accordance with facility guidelines.
• Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
