About The Position

The Environmental Services/Housekeeping Tech I is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for the residents, patients, visitors and staff. This role involves dusting, trash removal, cleaning bathrooms, and mopping floors. The position requires demonstrating an understanding of and embracing the mission statement of Christian Health. Key competencies include cooperating with residents and other staff, dusting from floor level to 9 feet high, visually inspecting work for quality completion, lifting and emptying mop buckets (up to 40 pounds), wet mopping floors (up to 1000 sq ft at a time), sliding trash off carts (up to 30 pounds), cleaning and sanitizing bathroom fixtures thoroughly, vacuuming carpets (up to 1000 sq ft at a time), washing beds, maintaining chemicals in proper containers, maintaining assigned equipment for cleanliness, observing and reporting the need for repairs of facility furniture, building, and fixtures, and observing and immediately reporting any resident needs, incidents, or clinical equipment issues to the Charge Nurse while in a resident room or care area.

  • Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.

Responsibilities

  • Dusts from floor level to 9 feet high with the aide of a 60 inch high duster.
  • Visually inspects work for quality completion.
  • Lifts (knee high) and empty mop bucket and 2 gallon of water (40 pounds).
  • Dries and wet mops floors up to a maximum of 1000 square feet at one time.
  • Slides trash off cart (30 pounds).
  • Cleans, polishes and sanitizes bathroom fixtures inside, outside, behind and underneath.
  • Vacuums carpet with upright vacuum (weight 20 pounds) up to maximum of 1000 square feet at one time.
  • Washes beds.
  • Maintains chemicals in proper containers, matching labels or colors.
  • Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness.
  • Observes and reports the need for repairs of the facility's furniture, building and fixtures.
  • While in a resident room or resident care area, observes and immediately reports to Charge Nurse any resident needs, resident incidents or clinical equipment in need of adjustment or repair.
