About The Position

Seeking reliable and customer-service-focused Environmental Services Attendants (GSW III) to maintain hospital cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control standards throughout the facility. This role is responsible for performing housekeeping and environmental cleaning duties in patient care and non-patient care areas while ensuring a safe and professional hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a steady work history, flexibility with scheduling, and the ability to work effectively in a healthcare setting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety signage.
  • Ability to safely operate industrial cleaning and waste disposal equipment.
  • Basic math skills for chemical measurements and ratios.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
  • Flexibility to work multiple shifts and schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Environmental Services (EVS), housekeeping, janitorial, or hospital cleaning experience preferred but not required.
  • Stable work history and positive attitude highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned hospital areas following infection control protocols.
  • Clean and disinfect horizontal and vertical surfaces, fixtures, fittings, beds, cribs, and equipment.
  • Vacuum, mop, and spot clean soft and hard floor surfaces.
  • Remove and dispose of waste and linen according to hospital procedures.
  • Prepare and sanitize patient sleep surfaces and replace linens as required.
  • Replenish supplies including paper towels, soap, tissues, and toilet paper.
  • Operate industrial cleaning and waste disposal equipment safely and effectively.
  • Utilize hospital-approved cleaning chemicals following safety standards.
  • Report maintenance issues, unsafe conditions, or supply shortages to supervisors.
  • Move and return furniture as necessary for cleaning tasks.
  • Maintain cleaning carts, closets, and equipment in clean working condition.
  • Accurately clock in/out using the hospital time and attendance system.
