About The Position

The role of the Environmental Services Dispatcher is to manage most incoming call inquiries and requests as it pertains to the cleanliness of patient rooms and areas within the hospital. The dispatcher will assign these requests to available environmental services technicians on duty using the Environmental Services Command Center in EPIC. In addition to assigning requests, the dispatcher is also tasked with monitoring all requests submitted into the command center that are active or pending to ensure minimal errors or discrepancies. The environmental services dispatcher is also tasked with monitoring the on-call ticketing queue through the help desk and allocating available environmental services technicians to complete each request. The dispatcher manages environmental services requests in an efficient, logical, and timely manner through the utilization of available applications and resources.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• 6 months of environmental services experience.
• Keen understanding of environmental services assignments.
• Working knowledge of hospital logistics.
• Ability to accurately follow oral and written instructions.
• Demonstrated experience with computers.
