About The Position
Broughton Hospital is currently accepting applications for the Environmental Services Director position. The Environmental Services Director provides leadership and oversight for the hospital’s Environmental Services Department, ensuring a clean, safe, sanitary, and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution with major emphasis on coursework in business administration or other related field, and two years of supervisory experience in housekeeping; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Selected applicants must be able to pass a State Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Check, and complete and pass BLS/CPR training and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training during orientation.

Nice To Haves
- Knowledgeable of hospital housekeeping with experience and knowledge in infection control, modern cleaning methods and approaches, and equipment use and selection
- Knowledgeable of product sections, use, and safety
- Experience managing the housekeeping program for a large institutional or commercial setting
- Experience developing and delivering staff training
- Experience managing bio-hazard disposal
- Experience with chemicals and cleaning methodologies for various types of surfaces
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise, schedule, and evaluate Environmental Services staff and daily operations including linen, and unit personal care items across the facility.
- Manage staffing, recruitment, performance management, disciplinary actions, and other personnel activities.
- Develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, organizational charts, and performance plans.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, safety, quality, and compliance standards are met.
- Coordinate with various departments and hospital leadership on operational needs.
- Manage departmental supplies, equipment, purchasing requests, and budget priorities.
- Oversee pest control services and support state health inspections, and regulatory surveys.
- Monitor and assign service requests through the Event Tracking system.
- Participate in hospital committees and professional development activities.
