About The Position

Broughton Hospital is currently accepting applications for the Environmental Services Director position. The Environmental Services Director provides leadership and oversight for the hospital’s Environmental Services Department, ensuring a clean, safe, sanitary, and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution with major emphasis on coursework in business administration or other related field, and two years of supervisory experience in housekeeping; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Selected applicants must be able to pass a State Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Check, and complete and pass BLS/CPR training and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training during orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledgeable of hospital housekeeping with experience and knowledge in infection control, modern cleaning methods and approaches, and equipment use and selection
  • Knowledgeable of product sections, use, and safety
  • Experience managing the housekeeping program for a large institutional or commercial setting
  • Experience developing and delivering staff training
  • Experience managing bio-hazard disposal
  • Experience with chemicals and cleaning methodologies for various types of surfaces

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise, schedule, and evaluate Environmental Services staff and daily operations including linen, and unit personal care items across the facility.
  • Manage staffing, recruitment, performance management, disciplinary actions, and other personnel activities.
  • Develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, organizational charts, and performance plans.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, safety, quality, and compliance standards are met.
  • Coordinate with various departments and hospital leadership on operational needs.
  • Manage departmental supplies, equipment, purchasing requests, and budget priorities.
  • Oversee pest control services and support state health inspections, and regulatory surveys.
  • Monitor and assign service requests through the Event Tracking system.
  • Participate in hospital committees and professional development activities.
