About The Position

Ocean View Environmental Services Custodians staff play crucial roles on our team. Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer and Hospital Administrator, ESCs perform a variety of tasks to ensure that the facility is in a clean, orderly, sanitary, and attractive condition. Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; Ocean View does not provide visa sponsorship for certain roles unless otherwise specified
  • Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), The Joint Commission, and HIPAA standards
  • Compliance with all required health screenings and immunizations in accordance with regulatory guidelines and facility policy, which may include tuberculosis (TB) testing, N95 fit testing, annual trainings, and proof of vaccination for certain communicable diseases

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of six months of experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or hospital setting.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, or other languages commonly spoken by the patient population
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across disciplines and departments.

Responsibilities

  • Sweeps, mops, vacuums, buffs, strips, waxes, shampoos, and cleans floor surfaces.
  • Cleans and dusts furniture, closets, telephones, vents and scour, polish and sanitize sinks, counters, stainless surfaces and waste receptacles.
  • Empties waste receptacles; cleans solid waste containers.
  • Wash windows and walls; may remove draperies, rugs, and other bulky items.
  • Moves and arranges furniture as needed for cleaning or presentation purposes.
  • Reports defective furniture and equipment needed for repairs to the Supervisor.
  • Maintains essential equipment and utility closets in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Perform tasks using appropriate infection control techniques.
  • Demonstrate understanding and be compliant with Patients' Rights, LPS Statutes, and Seclusion and Restraint Protocols
