Environmental Services / Custodial Operations Manager 1
About The Position
Sodexo is seeking an Environmental Services-Custodial Manager 2 for our client partners at St. Catherine's University in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The successful candidate will manage client relationships, inspect work daily to meet Annual Audit expectations, work closely with the Events team to staff events, interview, hire, lead and mentor the team, conduct safety meetings, and manage annual reviews and provide constructive counseling. Sodexo provides facilities, environmental, and food and nutrition management solutions for college campuses, aiming to positively influence student well-being and create a healthy learning environment.
Requirements
- Willingness to perform at a high level in a team environment
- Excellent customer service skills along with coaching, mentoring and team building
- Prior Environmental Service, Housekeeping, Custodial and Maintenance experience
- Strong, proven communication skills and the ability to prioritize service needs
- An organized leadership style to drive positive results on a daily basis
- Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse team of 28+ diverse employees
- Ensure a safe working environment through campus for all employees
- Perform all trash and recycle removal at designated on and off campus sites
- Operate vehicles with safe work practices and caution while efficiently transporting waste materials
- Work with customers to ensure satisfaction in areas of janitorial services, waste removal, and campus event set-up and tear down
- Operate custodial equipment including but not limited to wet - dry vacuums, extractors, buffers, sprayers, auto scrubbers and electric carts
- Inspect work daily to meet Annual Audit expectations
- Work closely with Events team to staff events like sports and concerts
- Interview, Hire, Lead and mentor our team
- Conduct safety meetings for our team
- Manage annual reviews and provide constructive counseling for course correction
