About The Position

The Environmental Services Coordinator is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining assigned areas in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition. This includes setting up event and conference rooms. Duties involve making timely rounds to pick up soiled, infectious waste, reusable patient care equipment, and instruments. The role also includes segregating these items to their respective holding areas, cleaning and reprocessing equipment and other reusable patient care items, and the proper transporting and handling of hazardous chemicals to designated storage areas. Additionally, the coordinator will run the assigned shift, delegate tasks to EVS colleagues, ensure all assignments are completed, round in areas assigned by management, answer phone calls, and perform proper follow-up.

Requirements

  • Previous Housekeeping experience- preferred

  • High School Diploma or GED- preferred

Responsibilities

  • Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains assigned areas in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition.
  • Performs event and conference room set-ups.
  • Makes timely rounds to pick up soiled, infectious waste, reusable patient care equipment, and instruments.
  • Segregates collected items to their respective holding areas.
  • Cleans and reprocesses equipment and other reusable patient care items.
  • Transports and handles hazardous chemicals to designated storage areas.
  • Runs the assigned shift.
  • Delegates tasks to EVS colleagues.
  • Ensures all assignments have been completed by EVS colleagues.
  • Rounds areas assigned by EVS manager/assistant managers.
  • Answers phone calls and performs proper follow-up.
