About The Position

This role involves receiving comprehensive Environmental Services (EVS) training to learn how to clean all aspects of assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, offices, and equipment, to meet Hospital and Department standards. The goal is to promote the quality of care rendered in the environment. The training program is three weeks long and covers various cleaning skills and duties, waste management, and handling bodily fluids and waste professionally. Compliance with all EVS EIC training program policies and procedures, including safety, personal conduct, and dress code, is required. A resume with relevant work history is necessary for application.

Requirements

  • Must apply through the Energy Innovation Center.
  • Ability to remain on feet for at least eight-hour periods, while lifting and transporting materials throughout the facility.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to self-regulate and work in a professional environment.

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Attend the three-week training program to learn specific skills and duties.
  • Thoroughly clean assigned patient rooms, common areas, and bathrooms.
  • Prepare discharged rooms for subsequent patients in an efficient manner.
  • Handle the facilities’ waste management and materials stocking.
  • Clean up blood spills, IV leaks, and various other bodily fluids and waste in a professional manner.
  • Comply with all EVS EIC training program policies and procedures, including safety, personal conduct, and dress code.
  • Make beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
  • Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, report problems to the supervisor.
  • Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to assure adequate supply.
  • Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices and equipment, following established procedures.
  • Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
  • Remove trash from all assigned areas.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Move equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets, etc. as assigned.
  • Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
