About The Position

The Environmental Services Associate is responsible for performing housekeeping/laundry functions in order to maintain an attractive, clean and comfortable environment to meet the needs of the residents. In addition, the Environmental Services Associate is responsible for maintaining excellent relations with the residents, their guests, and other staff, and promoting high department morale.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Housekeeping experience in a hospitality setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time-management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with ability to maintain daily schedule of residential and common area cleaning.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Safety focus to ensure safe environment for residents and guests.
  • Ability to move throughout the building(s) and campus as required.
  • Ability to stand & walk long distances throughout the workday (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to move and/or lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds over tiled and carpeted surfaces over long distances.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, work from a kneeling position, turn, reach, perform repetitive bending, stretch, and balance up to 95% of work day in order to complete assigned tasks.
  • Must have good manual dexterity for operating a fire extinguisher, vacuum cleaner, and other cleaning and equipment.
  • Ability to function efficiently despite distractions and interruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Performs detail housekeeping and laundry duties in apartments/suites including, but not limited to, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and dusting of all cleared surfaces as assigned.
  • Performs laundry and detail housekeeping duties in the hallways and other commons areas as assigned.
  • Completes all assigned duties in the order of priority set by the Director/Coordinator of EVS Department.
  • Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper working condition; notifies Director/Coordinator immediately of any equipment malfunctions, supply needs, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion.
  • Other duties as assigned.
